The Superfood Snack Bar is the ultimate take on the homemade muesli bars. One of the highlights is just how super quick it is to make this delicious bar. The baking time on the pack is only 15 minutes. I have a fast, fan forced oven so in reality mine was ready in just over 10 minutes. BUT you do need to give the bar a chance to cook all the way through, so make sure you follow the instructions and leave it on the low shelf in the oven.

This superfood bar has a fantastic list of wholesome ingredients, packed with rolled oats, puffed brown rice and wholemeal flour, with dark chocolate pepitas and chia seeds too.

Rolled oats are a fantastic source of low GI carbohydrates. They are rich in dietary fibre, which is important for digestive health and chronic disease prevention. Puffed brown rice and wholemeal flour are also high in dietary fibre. Wholemeal flour is more nutritious than white flour in terms of vitamin and mineral content as it is less processed and refined. All in all this combination of ingredients should ensure you are feeling full for longer, with a good, consistent slow release of energy.

Unlike your standard muesli bar, the great thing about this product is that you can control the type and amount of sugar and fat you add. I personally prefer using honey when I bake as I love the flavour. If you wanted to lower the saturated fat content of this Superfood Snack Bar, I recommend swapping the butter/coconut oil for almond butter (or your favourite nut butter). This will give the bar a slightly more cakey texture but it is still super delicious.
