Macadamia Oil with added DHA AND Walnut Oil with added DHA.

Both oils are made with 100% Australian ingredients and are a source of Omega-3. They are suitable for babies, toddlers, teens, adults – basically we are saying, everyone can have them! The oils are a nutritional seasoner – a quick and easy way to boost your Omega-3 intake.

You may be thinking “where do I recognise this DHA stuff” and that is because we have included it into our Fruit Purees. So why have we added it into these oils (is the next question you may be asking). The oils are a great way to include Omega-3 into your family’s diet, especially for those who may have outgrown our purees (no judgment…we snack on them here at Funch HQ!).

We won’t go on too much about DHA as you can read more about it here. However, DHA is important for brain and visual development and functioning both in infants and throughout life. So, it is important that you maintain an adequate intake of DHA throughout.

In one serving (1 teaspoon) of our edible oils, there is a source of Omega-3 fatty acids. The DHA used in the nut oils is from a plant-based source known as Algal Oil. This has been mixed into the nut oils to create a buttery smooth oil that honestly, melts in your mouth.

Sounds great, but how do I use them?

There is a whole range of different ways you can use our brand-new oils that are suitable for the whole family. The oils can be added as a nutritional seasoning in baby foods, toddler snacks, and family meals!

Since launching the product, we have come up with some simple, easy, and healthy ways for you to use the oils every day.

For little ones who are just starting their journey to eat solid foods, we recommend using the oils as a ‘baby seasoner’ in the the following applications:

  • Pour over infant rice cereal.
  • Drizzle over mashed potato and veg.
  • Mix into yoghurt and fruit purees.

For those who are a little more advanced and comfortable with solid foods, some ways that we love having the oil include:

  • Drizzled over roast vegetables.
  • Used in a salad dressing (may just be more of a mum or dad application!).
  • Blitzed into smoothies.
  • Poured over cooked porridge.

How about try using the oils in an Australian family favourite - Pesto Pasta, that will be sure to go down a treat with everyone!

One thing to note is to not use the oils for roasting and frying at temperatures above 100˚C, as the flavour of the oil with change and quality of DHA will be reduced.

Make sure you keep your eyes peeled on our recipe page for some ways to use the oils!
